Why is Les Paul control layout the way it is?

The biggest problem with the Gibson poker chip is that "neck pickup is rhythm" is super antiquated. It probably made sense if you were some southerner recording for Sun Records or Chess Box in the 1950s, but most guitarists since then, especially in rock and metal, use bridge for rhythm and neck...

“Uh Huh” - Hybrid Strat - Roasted Alder

The Jazz Neck only has a DCR of 7.5K. It might be hard to balance it between two P90s. If this was me I’d probably consider the SH-16 for the middle pickup instead with a coil split option, and something really high output like the Seymour Duncan Hot P90 or P90 Stack in the bridge, and a Gibson...

    Custom pickguard for Dinkycaster

Can you get the JM tremolo on the Dinkycaster?

Unexpectedly cool or rarely ordered Warmoth finishes?

Black Cherry Metallic, Black Cherry Burst Dye, Washed Black Dye, and Vintage Tint on Black Korina. While we’re on the topic of flakes, pictures online can’t do justice to Ernie Ball Music Man’s "Mystique" finish.

    What headstock for a Velocity?

This thread made me realize the Meadowhawk is basically a Tele version of the Wolfgang/Axis/Velocity.

Are there plans to update the Color Choices page on the website or the Color Catalog PDF?

@Wolff05 Do you have any pictures of what the burst finishes look like on Roasted Alder or Ash? In particular Black-Red-Yellow (I can probably make deductions as to what Cherry, Tobacco, Black Yellow, etc would look like based on that)?

    Dinkycaster Inferno'Tron

While we’re on the topic, can you get a dummy pickguard for a rear rout body that still lets you use pickup rings? I want a build with P-Rails and Triple Shots but I hate the look of flat top bolt-on neck guitars with no Pickguard.

Give me suggestions for a Tele Custom with a Seymour Duncan Little 59 bridge pickup.

UPDATES! I realized I needed a trem cover for my Meadowhawk I’m still waiting on, so I took the opportunity to order the Tele Custom body and pickguard at the same time. Went with normal Swamp Ash, and the forearm and tummy contour. I skipped the DIY paint ready option because I still have a...

Lace Sensor fans and electronics-savy people, I need some input on what Sensor colors to pick.

So I’m basically between the Blue/Gold Dually and the Emerald/Purple dually for the neck pickup. It’s a coin flip, I’m 50/50 on which one I go for. Silver middle and Red/Blue Dually bridge are basically locked in. I still really want to do a Dinkycaster build at some point, but I’ve started to...

    Color Shifting/Chameleon Spraypaint?l

When you spray the 2K finish on a guitar, how many coats do you give it? Do you use the whole can? I know you have a limited amount of time from activating the can to use it.

    Dinkycaster Inferno'Tron

@aarontunes Do you not have a coworker who will do this for you during off time?

    Dinkycaster Inferno'Tron

I’m gonna be the 10 dentist and say I prefer the second pickguard. Looks more guitar-ish, and with the flake finish would be reminiscent of Belinda Butcher’s Mustang. Top one looks more bass-ish like a 50s P-Bass or a Tele Bass (would still look cool though).

Lace Sensor fans and electronics-savy people, I need some input on what Sensor colors to pick.

I like it, it’s sort of Silhouette-ish, but it’s only rear routed, and a bit too modern and pointy. The Dinkycaster is better for this.

Let’s talk about direct mounting guitar pickups!

I got the Tele neck direct mounting wood screws, M3 threaded inserts and steel screws, and pickup foam. I’ll worry about this when the time comes. But as of now I can do, either/or inserts or wood screws. After actually holding the screws up to the pickup feet I feel a little more confident...

Black Sabbath Back to the Beginning

My dad, who I went to see Sabbath with on that 2014 tour, talked about seeing Sabbath once in the 70s and everyone thinking the opening act was better, even though nobody knew who they were. I assumed he was talking about Van Halen because that’s like a codified part of hard rock history and...
