Haha thanks mate. =] And yes, it is from KnE in Irvine, California. I ordered it off of eBay and once I received it, I did quite a bit of sanding to make it more like an Ibanez and not like a Strat. Beautiful body though, I was happy with doing business with them.

I applied a clear satin finish on both.

I really just wanted that awesome crunch and metal tone =] Many swear by an 85 in the neck, and I think the 81 still gives a great warm tone with that bright breakthrough.

I've heard that string retainers for Floyd Rose bridges help keep the tuning not as sharp. Is a string retainer necessary or should I be fine without one?

Thanks a bunch and that will definitely help me in this project that will hopefully turn out well. I've spent over $800 so I don't wish to ruin this project just because I messed up on the finishing. By the way, that guitar is a beauty. I will make sure I post a picture of my finished product.

Clear Satin. I like the color of the wood and I don't want to get into any painting and ruin it. Just a clear satin so the wood a grain can be showed off but is still protected by the elements. And not quite sure on what kind of applicant. Probably lacquer or polyurethane, but definitely not...
