Any downside to getting the universal route in a Strat?

I just pull the trem springs, leaves plenty of slack without having to wait for a string change... That and using a higher end string (like elixirs) on a test bed like that, they take the tension changes well, and stay bright and snappy.

What is the point of the 720 mod?

two questions, Was it a Lam top? Was it W finished, or did you do it? My first soloist was W poly finished, and Maple Lam top. The finger board has almost ZERO gap to the body. My second Soloist is Swamp ash, no Lam top, DIY finished. That has a gap of approx 2mm between the board and body.

Warmoth's "Gold" Wilkinson Tremolos are FAR from (glossy) gold.

THIS... I use either WD (who will in certain cases allow high volume discounts if you register with them as a luthier.) Guitar parts Resource, or Reverb.

What is the point of the 720 mod?

For you, and me perhaps. But what about Joe Blow with no real background in Applied sciences ? I know guys that are phenomenal players, but that are SO mechanically Dis-inclined the pay people to change their strings.... :icon_scratch: :laughing7:

What is the point of the 720 mod?

I for one beg to differ... That's an overall difference of .08 (in the world of CNC / machining, that's A LOT) over the stock depth of .640, and it allows one to get the string action closer to the body for those of us that prefer a fast more "shreddy" feel.

Any downside to getting the universal route in a Strat?

Or how many screws you put back in the rear cover.... My friends, and I refer to that as Bat Ear territory, Much like cork-sniffing, but WAY more pretentious....

EMG Active Bass Electronics - Will it all fit?

If I can cram a Master V/T EMG harness and 9v in a tele-esque sized cavity, I think you'll be ok. :icon_thumright: Unfortunately that means no 18v mod for me.... :tard: my next EMG loaded build will have a double box on it, the 18v mod is probably the single easiest mod ever.

    Show us your guts

Solderless harnesses.... How do I put it.....I am not a fan. One of my more successful luthier friends did some work for the Guitar player from Sick Of It All. Dude rocks EMG's, and sweats like a PIG.... I mean BUCKETS.... and we ALL know what that can do to open air connections. now all his...
