I agree about strat headstocks looking better than tele headstocks 100%. Mine's probably a bit different cause I doubt who ever made it paid Fender a royalty! It's all right but nothing special quality wise. Most of the sanding is done, I reckon I've got one session left to sort the sanding...

You can use a Dremel to cut a slot in the screw and then just screw it out as normal.

I had a chance to get rid of the extra wood in the neck pocket yesterday. It was only about 1 1/2 mm from the top side of the pocket and I had to do it with stanley knife (it was that or sandpaper, all I had), it worked fine. I need to work on cutting in a straight line! I used a metal ruler but...

How about a gold burst, matching paisley peghead veneer, gold hardware, gold frets and birdseye maple neck and fretboard?
