    neck blank slightly tourqed

I bought a neck blank from Warmoth for a build I am doing. I am in Kansas so I was kind of afraid there would be some problems with the moisture changing in the wood between Washington and here.  Its nothing that cant be fixed by running it through the planner a couple times but I am afraid...

blue transparent finish on an ash body (suggested finishing schedule)

thanks Tonar thats a super big help. the book gave very similar instructions but interjected with alot of optional steps and additional information. Some times its nice to just have a very simple stripped down outline.    I will put pics up when I am done with the project. I am making it a...

blue transparent finish on an ash body (suggested finishing schedule)

Ive built a couple guitars from component parts and want to make the jump to doing my own wood work and finishing. I want to do a blue transparent finish on a swamp ash body. I own stew mac's finishing step by step but it gives more information on other finishes and not so much this style of...

top routed musiclander option and pickguard

its funny you say that cuz I am in the planning stages of building a guitar from scratch. I just recently bought 5 books on different elements of construction  design and finishing.

top routed musiclander option and pickguard

Well I guess I suggest that Warmoth offer more options with the musiclander body. It would have more potential if it could be top routed too.

top routed musiclander option and pickguard

I built a warmoth musiclander guitar and while its awesome I wish I could have created a Swinger mustang hybrid with the body of the Swinger/ Musiclander and the electronics of a mustang.

    top routed musiclander... why not

The more I look at my pickguardless musiclander build the more I wish I could have build one like the original. Why doesnt warmoth give the option.

HARD TAIL GUITAR: Tune-o-matic or regular strat bridge....

I'm doing a recessed TOM build on a hard ash Musiclander body and from what Ive read It seems to have advantages over non string through bridges at least in the sustain department. It my be a negligible difference to most people as other factors such as the wood and your neck effect it as well. ...

    What is your favorite effect/pedal?

I like my fender blender and my harmonic percolater replica.  The hp1 one turned down low to give me a little bit of bite when I play chords for  bright, fat slightly colored tones  and my fender blender when I want to play leads with a lot of  octave fuzz and sustain. when I playe chords with...

hard Ash body, Airline reissue "valco" pickups, 300k pots and 33mf tone cap

I just found out the pick ups are 10K and 12K impedance. how do I enter this into picking the right electronics

hard Ash body, Airline reissue "valco" pickups, 300k pots and 33mf tone cap

i cant find any specs on the pickups anywhere. I emailed myrareguitars.com/ eastwood guitars and they said they use 500k pots. The PUPS are meant to be an upgrade for eastwood's airline guitars with mahogany bodies and the main reason they had 500k pots before the upgrade was because they come...
