Basswood Strat - I might go for a Transparent Finish

Thanks for this, Rick, that is a great post and some great points to consider! Personally, I love changes and growing with something, that's why I always like to start with guitars that are not aged or much aged to begin with and then in time they get beats, dings etc. So an evolving color will...

Basswood Strat - I might go for a Transparent Finish

This Body probably won't win any popularity contest, because it being Basswood and having the Swimming Pool Route, but some of the best Strats I played in the past were Basswood - and I really love how it looks! It's been more than 20 years since I last had a Basswood Strat (back then it was a...

Tried wiring my Dual Humbucking Warmoth Strat with 50s wiring

I see, thanks to the both of you. @stratamania - yes, my tone controls worked in the initial try. @Hodgo - ok, I could be perfectly fine with just 1 tone control and 1 volume. Can you make one up like this? Thanks

Tried wiring my Dual Humbucking Warmoth Strat with 50s wiring

Ok, after studying the Seymour Duncan page with how a 5-way switch works for many hours (hey, I am a complete newbie at wiring!), I think this still might work, if I connect 4 additional jumper cables. 2 Green ones from the pickup terminals and 2 blue ones from the tone pots. Wouldn't that...

Tried wiring my Dual Humbucking Warmoth Strat with 50s wiring

Ok, so after looking at a Tele wiring diagram, I'm still stuck. I don't understand how a switch works exctly and don't have any idea how a closed circuit works. So in simple terms, what would I need to wire in for the middle position to get active, while keeping the 50s wiring?

Tried wiring my Dual Humbucking Warmoth Strat with 50s wiring

So I have this Swamp-Ash Strat Warmoth Body with H-H, so just dual humbuckers with no Single in the middle and a 3-way selector switch. I figured giving 50s wiring a try, so got the attached wiring diagram and followed everything. Now all seems to be working fine except the middle position on...

What Is Your Favorite Neck Profile?

I play with my thumb over the neck but I also love a fatback, or a 59 shape plus a 1-3/4" nut width! And my hand size is not large, rather a small medium. Go figure...

Meadowhawk body, neck, and inlays are now officially on the menu!

Hey Aaron, any chance of the Meadowhawk body getting a "chambered" option? I love the chambered bodies from Warmoth, they are my favorite over the solid body counterparts - even for heavy stuff!
