I don't understand. You want to buy a 43mm (1.693") / 1-11/16 neck (1.6875, give or take a few thou due to manufacturing tolerances) and cut your own 42mm (1.654 / "1.650") spaced nut? If you are somehow capable of cutting your nut that accurately, I would say that around .019" less on each...

That's some nasty stuff to machine! Pretty cool to see it in this application, though.

I have hated gold hardware in the past. Still do on most guitars. Somehow, once I started building Warmoths, two of my five have gold hardware. I think I like gold better on darker fretboard guitars. On this body, I think either would be fine. Gold would be a little over the top and straight...

I just wanted to share the knobs I machined for my current "SuperStrat" project. I think they turned out pretty cool! A light press fit on the 1meg split long shaft pots for the Lollar DB humbucker with an M3 set screw to wedge into the split. I might end up trying to polish the alu-minium (😁)...
