Does anyone have any tips on how to get the 3 neck pickup wires threaded into the control plate cavity? Mine just won't go through on this build for some reason. I was wondering if it helps to do this with the neck removed? I never had this problem before, not sure what is going on this time.

Thanks. I did get a pickguard with the holes for mounting on it. I haven't done a build yet with body mounted pickups.

I use Hipshot tuners which because of the plate they are installed on, basically align themselves.

For sure, I will put the neck back on (the bridge is already on) and line everything up, then drill. My only question was if the pickguard needs to then be removed to install the neck pickup or not.

I did follow your video on that and installed them without the neck attached. I have a Fender Tele AVII 51 and I basically positioned the strap buttons on this build in the same places as on the Fender. Dumb question here, but I can't recall if I install the pickups into the body without the...

Basically that is what I have done so far. I wired up the control plate (my first attempt, quite ugly but seems to all be connected!?).

Mostly the part about installing the pickguard, control plate, and pickups. Basically, do I install the pickguard minus the pickups, remove it, install the pickups, then reinstall it.

Can someone either provide a sequencial list, or point me to a previous post where the steps for completing a Telecaster build are detailed? I found an old thread from 2008 where Mayfly listed a sequence, but I don't know if he or anyone else still would do it that way. I have so far installed...

Literally what just happened to me. I ordered solid shaft CTS pots and the knobs I had on hand didn't fit. I then ordered more knobs with a larger "hole" which still didn't fit. Not sure how to determine what would fit now.
