    Sarno Tube Preamp?

Indeed it was a LONG time ago. Again, I saw them dozens of times, but really never after the late 70's early 80's. I was at Watkins Glen. Not the best show, but still good. I was at the 1974 Roosevelt Field show. That was a Wall of Sound show. A great show. The most memorable shows though were...

    Sarno Tube Preamp?

Stuble at the moment! But there were times I saw the Dead where Jerry didn't have a beard.

    Sarno Tube Preamp?

I imagine the Alembic is considerably better being priced at $3,300. And their guitars seem to be over $20K. Not in my budget for sure. While I love the Dead, and in saw them dozens of times from the late 60's to the later 70's, I am not trying to sound like Jerry, as I am certain no amount of...

    Sarno Tube Preamp?

Has anyone had any experience with any of the Sarno Music Tube Preamps? I found them in researching Jerry Garcia equipment. They look interersting, and combined with a sold state power amp they look like they might make a nice rack system.

    Fender Neck Question

Thanks. So it would be best to order it unfinished then?

    Fender Neck Question

So if I understand correctly, you can't get it delivered from Warmoth with the rolled edges, you need to do that yourself? If so, probably above my skill set.

Body Finishes - Satin vs. Gloss

I searched on the Warmoth site and found some finish information, but no detail as to the exact process in detail. Specifically, what are the materials that go into a Satin finish vs. a Gloss finish. If I understand correctly, both have a similar process up until the final steps. So I am trying...

    Fender Neck Question

The Fender description says: radius round-laminated fingerboard. Not sure what radius round means, but on my AV II 51 it fgeels more rounded at the sides/edges. That is one of the things I like about it. It feels more rounded/softer to the touch than my other Warmoth necks.

    Fender Neck Question

I am looking at a vintage Tele body on the Warmoth site. My question is does Warmoth offer any type of neck that is similar in overall finish, etc. to the necks on the Fender Vintage II Tele's? When I bought my AV II 51 Tele recently, I also played a AV II 63 Tele. I loved the neck, but would...

Fender American Vintage II 1951 Telecaster Question

I guess people don't use the word dealer to refer to a guitar shop? I did play and inspect it, just missed this issue. Didn't notice it until I brought it home and played it at home. Waiting on Fender to give their input but I believe Fender or the shop I bought it at should replace the...

Fender American Vintage II 1951 Telecaster Question

It is a 5 hole. Both myself and the dealer removed the pickguard and there was nothing pushing up on it. I am thinking it is just a bad pickguard. I called Fender. Hopefully they will just send me a replacement. I though it also might have heen the screws were slightly off, but I don't think...

Fender American Vintage II 1951 Telecaster Question

I have several Warmoth Tele's, but wanted one Fender also. I just purchased the AVII 51 Tele and have an issue which I don't know if it is a problem or not. The dealer says it is normal, doesn't seem right to me, especially on a brand new guitar. The issue is the low e side of the pickguard has...

In praise of the Friedman Smallbox

I do have a couple of your pedals already. Really enjoying them. The search for pedals is so exhausting as there are so many choices.

In praise of the Friedman Smallbox

I forgot to thank you for this link. In the end I decided to just work with the current firmware and hope that whatever caused my problem gets resolved in a later release. Either way, I am going to go back to tube amps. Thus my seemingly endless search for the amp that will be most versatile for...

In praise of the Friedman Smallbox

Interesting. I will look into that issue and just directly ask Dr. Z about it. Friedman appeals to me because I think for someone like me who can't afford but one great amp they are more likely to have an ongoing business/support model, even after the founder is gone. Dr. Z amps have a nice...
