Shielded my cavity and now there is more hum

I shielded my cavity and pick guard with copper tape, and now there is more noise and before. I’ve tested and the strings are still connected to the ground in the output jack, but now when I touch the strings there is no reduction in noise. I feel like if anything it’s more of an antennae than...

I’ve applied the Stock Sheen product. Worked perfectly and left an ultra fast feel on the neck. Thanks for your help!

I ordered the stock sheen. Should I apply the gun stock wax after as well?

Does raw neck require additional sanding before Tru Oil?

I am beside myself with excitement for my first Warmoth neck arriving tomorrow. I know the necks have been sanded pretty smooth at the factory. Can I start applying a finish immediately or should I sand further? It’s maple with rosewood fretboard. (I won’t apply Tru Oil to the fretboard).
