Hmm yeah I watched that this morning. So I guess having a slight backbow at neutral is no bueno then. I'm going to triple check (I have 3 notched straight edges by different manufacturers) and if it's not dead flat at rest, I guess I'll need to make a phone call.

Timely that I should run into this thread as I was doing a string change on a guitar with a gotoh 2 pt and somehow in the course of it both bushings came up halfway. I didn't even notice at first until I saw that my string action was insane lol. Gonna go the CA wicking route.

b Fair. I'd still expect the instrument to perform properly when adjusted to manufacturer specifications which seem to be always a bit on the high side of preference, and I'm yet to get lucky enough to have that be a thing.

Replying to my own comment to say that the ibanez is going back to the retailer. Fretwork is poor. I expect to do fretwork when assembling my own instrument, but I'm not performing a full level on a factory instrument that costs $1500. Either finish the guitar right or sell it as a kit...
