How many guitars do you own?

2 "commercial" electrics 1 Warmoth and 1 Musikraft electric 1 Warmoth bass 1 acoustic I'm thinking N+1, either P-90 or TV Jones, maybe chambered... I don't tend to "get around" to more than 3-4 electrics with regularity, so when I've had more, they've tended to go unplayed for many months at a...

Gathering info for potential warmth les paul build

Yup - and that adds to the cost of the project.  I know my first build, I took to a luthier for a final check and fretwork (I wasn't up for that myself), so it added $100 to that project.  I know there are a number of people that go this route because they don't want to take "irreversible" steps...

Gathering info for potential warmth les paul build

In order for Warmoth to be "worth it," at least a couple of the following must be true: 1. You enjoy the journey/activity of building your own guitar.  I love all 3 of my partscasters. 2. You have very specific desires that cannot be found on a production instrument. 3. You are patient and...

    Carved Tele - Unique finish

Cranked the piss out of it last night through a SLO-30.  It was glorious!  I may tweak my treble bleeds a bit, but it was very usable and as one of my friends said, "that thing has some serious balls."

    Carved Tele - Unique finish

I remember the '92 game (was in high school).  In January of 1978, I was too young to care!

    Carved Tele - Unique finish

Added links from Imgur.  Now I need a sunny day to take it outside and get a shot in the sun.  I'm really happy with how the finish came out.  I burnished the roasted maple neck and polished the SS frets to a shine.  It plays really well.  I'm excited to take it to rehearsal this week and see...

    Carved Tele - Unique finish

I may have to break down and do that - I've avoided hosting sites for years.

    Carved Tele - Unique finish

Argh!  I couldn't load the pictures from my phone to the site, so I forwarded them to my computer and tried to use Windows to save the file type...  Let me see if I can figure it out tonight.

    Staining idea

For posterity - this technique works well on maple, and is likely feasible on swamp ash, based on the scraps I got from Warmoth when I ordered my body.  Swamp ash came out lighter with the same dye than maple did, but for my final product, it was close enough that I didn't worry about it. (edit...

    Carved Tele - Unique finish

Final body prior to assembly - came out WAY better than I was expecting... Assembly was next. Plan was for: Pickups - Dimarzio Area T neck and bridge Gotoh compensated bridge Neck pickup with volume only, bridge volume and tone. Ran into a problem - The Area T neck pickup is ~0.9" deep...

    The Gold Digger

I asked Warmoth to include scraps when I purchased my body in January and they did.  You could go that avenue.
