    Help: Dead-sounding Guitar

I have a Warmoth guitar that just really lacks life. The tone is actually okay, but you have to really dig in, otherwise it sounds like rubber bands on a cardboard box. The dynamics suck and it doesn't respond to nuances in picking attack like other guitars. This was my first partscaster and a...

    Need help identifying chords

Nice chord sequence.  :)  I agree with Photoguy for the first two chords, with one small tweak for the third chord. I call it an A7add11, rather than an A11.

    Warmoth CTV - The Velocity

I like the body. Looks a bit like the Tuttle carved top.

Warmoth 7/8, CAE OD 100 Classic Plus, Suhr Badger 30

Nice guitar! Nice playing! Nice girlfriend!  :) I've always wanted to try the 7/8 guitar. I'm short for a guy, so I think it might fit me better.

    Super Vee Tremolos

Actually, yeah, I have held guitars by the whammy bar and shaken them.

    Super Vee Tremolos

True, true. I actually miss both of my floyd-y Ibanez guitars. They were a lot of fun! I never busted a trem, though I wore out the bushings on one (big deal).

    Super Vee Tremolos

Thanks, man. I'm leaning towards the Bladerunner for now, but I might change my mind at purchase time.  :)

    Hitler gets a Klon, BRILLIANT!!

Once he said, "Guys on 'I Love Fuzz' sell similar things for less than one hundred dollars", I lost it and laughed the whole way through.    :icon_biggrin:

Damn 9 yrs olds these days!!

Impressive! Kinda funny at first with the guitar so big on her. But she's got chops, that's for sure. See also Jess Lewis, who is 16 and has been playing for four years. She's already playing Guthrie Govan songs.  http://youtu.be/bVYAxDwzq80

    Super Vee Tremolos

Thanks, guys.  :) Hmm. Maybe the original Super Vee is gonna suit me better. I have a tendency of throwing out modern Strat-style trems after a few seconds of serious wobbling. Of course, I'm probably not setting them up ideally. After all, EVH didn't have a Floyd in the beginning and he did...

    Super Vee Tremolos

Thanks for your input, Cagey. Yeah, I wonder about the life span for the bit of spring steel, too. That knowledge is not within my area of expertise. I'd hate to have one explode during use. That could be painful. I'm hoping that they've thought that aspect through and tested them enough to...

    First Warmoth - My Frankenjazzmaster

Very nice! I'm not usually a fan of Jags or Jazzmasters, but that is a cool looking version.

    Super Vee Tremolos

Hey there. For my third mostly-Warmoth build I'm thinking of dropping a Super Vee trem in. Does anyone have any experience with them? I'm thinking of getting the Bladerunner, rather than the original Super Vee trem, because it's cheaper and less Floyd-y. Does anyone know if the Bladerunner...

Quick question about wood & weight

I've found wood type to make a noticeable difference, but I agree that the neck and pickups bring more into the equation, no questions asked.  What effects tone more, as far as bodies are concerned, is the shape and type.  So, a hollow-body Tele with an F-hole and a Les Paul will sound more...
