    BYOC: Armstrong Twin

I have an Armstrong twin, distortion 250+, and Large Beaver (Ram's head). All great! Though admittedly the 250+ is probably my least favorite pedal on my board, but that has more to do with me than the pedal (or BYOC) - I'm primarily using the Ram's Head and a BK Butler Tube Driver for my crunch...

    Maple or Rosewood?

my two favorite necks right now are a Canary/Canary and a Goncalo Alves/Pau Fero. Both are insanely good. If I had to choose between them, I'd pick the canary, but only by the slightest margin. plus, once you play an unfinished neck, I don't think you'll want anything else.  :guitaristgif: -erik

    New toy: Pete Cornish LD-3

this. :icon_thumright: Absolutely, there's a coolness that I enjoy knowing that the same hands that built rigs for Brian MAy and David Gilmour built mine, with the same courtesy, attention, and quality. But hey, that's me, and that's what I wanted. Obviously tons of people get great sounds...

    New toy: Pete Cornish LD-3

wow - fellas, fellas.... I didn't say everyone needed to sell their children to buy Pete Cornish Pedals, I didn't say use Pete Cornish pedals and you'll sound just like David Gilmour, I didn't say Pete Cornish pedals were better than any other pedal out there. I said  "Hey, I bought a Pete...

    New toy: Pete Cornish LD-3

ah, but to get that overdriven marshall sound at the click of a foot switch, in the middle of a song, without having to fiddle with the amp at all, is a different matter. It's a fine tuning, able-to-punch-in-and-out-of-the-sound sorta thing. I prefer playing through extremely clean, loud amp...

    New toy: Pete Cornish LD-3

I'll give it a good going over this weekend. I'd like to get a G-2 and an SS-3 at some point, but $$$$.... -erik

    New toy: Pete Cornish LD-3

My first Pete Cornish! Just got it yesterday, so now chance to really give it a going over yet. What's an LD-3? It is a line driver, tuner feed, and mute all in one. Supposedly, if you put one of these at the front of your chain, it greatly improves the overall sound going into your effects...

You realize that a orange covered Reeves-era Hiwatt is THE amp that I want? *engage envy mode* :kewlpics: -erik

    cryo cooled pickups and parts

I haven't played those, but I don't doubt it; Dimarzio makes some great pickups. -erik

    cryo cooled pickups and parts

I have no idea if it is the cryo treatment that makes a difference, but I put the H/SRVs and a full set of Callaham hardware on my "black strat" project, and it sounds incredible. Easily best single coils I've ever played. Loud, full sounding, articulate when distorted, great cleans, just...

one and a half new strats!

The NeoVins were ok... they were really quiet... I really had to crank the volume to get any noise at all, and then mostly from the neck pickup. They didn't really have a lot of personality, but they were perfectly fine, and I'll drop them into a future build for sure. The EMGs are just an...

one and a half new strats!

Crappy cell phone pics - my appologies, but the real camera is on vacation with the missus  :glasses9: Black Strat: Gilmourish; a Highway 1 Fender Body, Warmoth Pro Canary/Canary neck with stainless steel frets and a graphite nut, Callaham hardware (including bridge with short Gilmour arm), and...
