The only necks that will work on a 7/8 Warmoth guitar is a 7/8 neck or a Mustang 24" scale neck. The 24.75" scale may be the same on a Gibson conversion neck but the location of the bridges on the bodies is not the same. Bottom line, the Gibson conversion neck will fit a 7/8 body but the...
Soldering up instrument cables is not difficult. Neutrik plugs are very good especially the Silent Plug. There are many brands of cable that are top notch. You can do it for less money and can customize the length and the plugs, right angle or straight.
Using a coffee filter I applied around 20 coats of Tru Oil allowing each to dry for a day before reapplying the next coat. The finish has held up very well. You need to talk with the Warmoth sales staff to make sure that you get the color variation that you are looking for.
I see that your visualization of the body is based on Warmoth's mock-up. A few years ago I built a swamp ash with rosewood lam top body strat. The grain on my build is way different than the pic you posted. I would talk to Warmoth's sales staff before you order so that you get something like...
I agree with the Babicz Full Contact bridge. Once you get the string height and intonation set, the saddles are locked in place and will not need any further adjustment. The full contact feature of the Babicz bridge really does enhance and increase the un-plugged tone of the guitar and with...
On my first Warmoth build I ordered a satin finished all maple neck and I used the "score and scrape" method to clean the frets. Worked fine and did not take much time at all. That said, I now prefer roasted maple because no finish is required. I do like the look of a finished regular maple...
Perhaps you should consider getting a new neck. Roasted maple (no finish needed) with 9.5" radius, SS frets and GraphTech nut is about $350 + shipping.
I've only bought custom spec necks from Warmoth. All have been great and not something that you can find in the showcase. I have a 7/8 Strat , a Gibson conversion and two tilt-back Gibson conversions. However, if what you want is a straightforward replacement Strat or Tele neck with a...
Be patient and try to find the footswitch on Reverb or eBay. These amps are not designed to be modded to change the footswitch controls. As for the preamp tubes ECC83 and 12AX7 are almost identical. Look at Eurotubes.com website. There you will find several options for both the preamp and...
I have one Clapton profile Warmoth neck. It is not what I would call a "soft" V and is more pronounced when compared with a Fender Clapton Signature guitar neck. I have an old Ovation that has a soft V thin profile and that neck is more comfortable for barre chords. That said, the Clapton...
A tilt-back neck is required because the relocated neck bolt would interfere with the side truss rod adjustment on modern construction Warmoth necks. See the photos and Stratamania's analysis of potential problems above. Accordingly, a regular Gibson conversion Telecaster neck won't work...
I've had the Acoustasonic Telecaster with the conversion neck for over a year now. It's great. There are no intonation issues, but to achieve that the nut slots had to be re-cut for the acoustic strings. I'm pretty handy with fixing guitars but I had that done by a local tech. I liked the...
