9.5"-14" or 10"-16"? Which compound radius would you recommend?

In what way? Tremolo is rapid variation in either pitch or amplitude. When has it been used outside of those definitions?

New video: Warmoths versus a Les Paul

More like the dull and boring sound of Gibson pickups. Throw those Bareknuckles in the LP and it will sound massively better, without question.

9.5"-14" or 10"-16"? Which compound radius would you recommend?

So why is this "wrongly" called a compound radius when that's the only term I've ever seen applied, it is used as the standard terminology in the industry, and it follows one of the multiple meanings of the word "compound?"

New video: Warmoths versus a Les Paul

I wasn't completely certain until I got to Middle Position Test #4. Yep, that's the muddy garbage I equate with Les Pauls alright. It always shows up eventually. A and C both sounded better in every clip, but as you'd expect it changed from gain level to gain level which one sounded better...

Paul Reed Smith finally wises up to plastic tuning buttons

No, because apparently PRS is actually serious which disqualifies him as a comedian no matter how laughable that video is.

    What feels most like Ebony?

Another vote for kingwood here. It's close in density to ebony and, at least in my experience, has a very similar feel to it. Someone mentioned a finished fretboard. Having owned a Rickenbacker... no. :ROFLMAO: It feels fine, but nothing like ebony. All that said, I REALLY wish Warmoth would...

9.5"-14" or 10"-16"? Which compound radius would you recommend?

If I put a half dozen guitars in your hand with different fretboard radii you likely wouldn't notice any difference except at the most extreme ends of the spectrum. Yeah, a 7.5" and a 16" are going to feel a bit wonky next to each other. Going from a 9.5" to a 16"... eh, not so much. There's a...

Yet another neck wood combination thread...

I've always looked at it like the tonal variation is equal to the mass of the thing. This isn't strictly true, of course, but it helps keep perspective. I came to the exact same conclusion with goncalo. Helps that it looks damn good too.

What do the small pegs on a CTS push/pull do?

They're the exact same as the upper connections with the same name. Yes, you can attach stuff to them. https://www.stewmac.com/electronics/components-and-parts/potentiometers/cts-push-pull-pots-dpdt/ The actual purpose is just to be solder points for the PCB. Each one is connected to the...

Yet another neck wood combination thread...

Aaron did a really good video a few months back that directly compares various necks on the same body. In this case the necks and boards are made of the same woods but, honestly, there's no REAL difference between fingerboard materials that you could suss out without a frequency analyzer...

    GAS Alert!!!!

I've been coming here for a lot longer than I've had an account and this one in particular gets me every time I look at it. Everything about it is just RIGHT.

First Warmoth Assembly - Green HSS Strat-a-like.

Love that green. And the guitar will never fold in half because of the string tension. The thing you REALLY have to worry about* is an unknown burr that snaps the string and takes out your eye. Well, happy restringing for eternity! ;) *and by that I mean never worry about

Paul Reed Smith finally wises up to plastic tuning buttons

I cannot imagine for a second that you'd be so full of crap as to try to convince people that plastic tuner knobs somehow magically increases midrange. You've done far too many comparison test videos. The moment Warmoth tried that everyone would demand a metal/plastic A/B test and it would all...

Should Warmoth do a Carve Top Diamondback

Snark is always warranted. It's what makes the world go 'round. Who said anything about maintaining a 1.75" thickness on a carved top? Is a Les Paul 1.75" thick? No. You add the thickness to the top, increasing body weight, shifting the center of mass further rearward in the process. Just...

Should Warmoth do a Carve Top Diamondback

Yes, because of the extra body weight that a thicker body would add. Kind of obvious, given that's how guitars have worked since physics was invented.(y)
