so does a straighter neck allow for lower action?

I have a Warmoth Pro Strat neck with the side adjustment which I lost the wrench to. Can anybody tell me if it's Standard or Metric? Also, does a straighter neck allow for lower action without buzzing or one that is bowed a bit?

I used steel wool on my neck to make it more playable, but within a week or two it was back to normal shine from use.

I don't think Basswood is an option. He plays a lot and he is pretty hard on his guitar now. Maybe I could go with Korina body and neck. Ebony fretboard. Pretty indestructible. Would that be muddy at all?

I use SS and every time I play the a guitar with old style frets I am glad I have SS. Wouldn't buy another guitar without them.

Sounds like Mahogany body and neck, probably ebony fretboard It's going to be painted with some sort of design, so I don't need a fancy top.
