Yeah I was devastated with the finish flaked off. Good on Warmoth for just fixing it though. The re-finished neck has had no finish problems at all.

Sorry for all this. It was a problem on my hosting server side. The domain changed and the old links included a redirect. It's a shame that the new update doesn't let me post more than 20 images in one post, but I split it into two posts and it worked fine.

REPOST (2/2) -- the above post seems to have broken images after a system update. Copy pasted into multiple posts below. --- ... 🐢 I couldn't do it. The wood is too beautiful. I can always add it later. So I added longer tubing to the neck pickup, and installed it into the body. I wired up...

Let me know if I should take this private. Sorry for being so noisy on this, but it doesn't work to create new replies / posts in the thread, and link to external images. They show up and work fine in the preview, but, I get a broken image icon when the thread is posted. Here's an example of...

REPOST (1/2) -- the above post seems to have broken images after a system update. Copy pasted into multiple posts below. --- Hi everyone! Warning - long post. Warning - lots of big pictures. Sorry (?) about that. So I recently got a promotion, and was thinking of what to do to celebrate. I...

Oh I see, thanks. I went to edit it and it complains that I have too many images.. I guess I have to edit it into multiple posts, but this means I need to re-post as a new thread, when it's an old one. Feels like of like an un-needed bump to the top, though!

Thanks! I'm not sure if it's related, but I just went to share one of my old posts with someone, and it seems that the pictures on my old post do not work any longer.. https://unofficialwarmoth.com/threads/first-build-tele.33617/#post-466717 Thoughts? Related?

Thanks for all the feedback!! Yes, I am still playing with the pickup height... And as for jumping into a build, my big advice is to expect mistakes and be okay with it being rough around the edges. It's a project, your want perfect, this isn't the way to go. That said, this one turned out...

    User's guide to tru-oil finish

OK Thanks everyone, this insight really helps. I think it may have been put on too excessively. The bad news is that (very long convoluted story ensues) the luthier is remote and I shipped the guitar to get it done, so I'm not sure I'd ship for this. I may see how it plays out and then try to...

    User's guide to tru-oil finish

Ok Thanks. I checked my email and it's about a month to the day that he said the neck was finished. I'll keep playing it. I'll ask around on here what to do if the roughness on the back keeps up. I'm pretty handy and interested in doing my own finishing, so if all I end up doing in the end is a...

Thanks, that's helpful. I wonder what others' experiences are. My luthier is off until next week, but I'll ask him what he thinks...

    User's guide to tru-oil finish

Hey everyone! I searched but couldn't find an answer to this. I have an old Fender JV Squier ('82) that has always been plagued by neck problems. I finally sent it to a high end luthier who confirmed the neck was toast (mostly because prior luthiers butchered it trying to 'fix' it). He...
