That is one lean, mean machine!  Very cool build!

Soycaster II, return of the soy

I just pulled these parts for you.  Everyone looked at that combo and agreed that this is going to be a first-class build.  Congratulations!  Don't forget to post pix when you get her put together!

You need to hold the nut with a nut driver to remove the screw and get the saddle out.  Some people flip the bass saddles around backward to help with intonation.

D, I went with the straight 12" to match the Tune-o bridge.  I have a compound radius neck on my Tele.  My Strat is a straight 9.5".

Thanks.  The only non-Warmoth part on there is the tip of the toggle switch.  It is a chrome metal one, made by Schaller.  $4 on Ebay.

Thanks for the compliments, lads.  Yeah, I dig the clean, uncluttered look of chrome on black, no binding, just strictly business.  Don't get me wrong, I drool over those killer figured carved tops we have kicking around here, but I can't picture myself owning one.  I've always liked Gold Tops...

Here are more photos, she's pretty much done. Installing the Schaller Mini Locking tuners. Looks like we're ready for setup and some jammin'! Here are the things that did not turn out perfect on this: Front strap button is a bit crooked (it's hard to drill a straight hole on that curved...

    Black LP Build

Okay, here is the neck during the final phase of fretshop work.  After another round of Quality Control, it should be in my hands tomorrow afternoon. Here is the neck waiting to have the ends of the frets ground off flush with the sides of the fretboard. Here Jeff is using this belt sander...

No, the "NFG" stuff has its headstock cut off.  We use them as pencil holders on our desks.... and, mind you, there are not many that get scrapped.

    Black LP Build

Okay, here are some pix of the fretting action as promised.  Our head fret Honcho, Jeff, was kind enough to allow me to snap a few photos while he did his magic today.  Jeff is one talented guy; he can fret a neck in less than 5 minutes.  Seems he has some certificate at home with his name on it...

    Ebony neck

We can do them, depending on if we have the wood available to use as the shaft.  I've seen several custom Ebony/Ebony necks go out over the past couple of months, one was Jet Black on Jet Black, with no face dots.  It was like the Obelisk in 2001:  A Space Odyssey -  smooth as glass and a thing...

Any Canary necks in the works?

Marko, Remember, we can cut a Strat headstock down to a Tele for $45.  So, if you see an unfinished Strat neck in the Showcase that looks like the magic combination, we can change the headstock for you.  And, yes, a Strat neck will work in a Tele neck pocket; some of the other guys in here and...
