Yeah, I'm wondering about the neck too.  Looks a bit darker than both of my roasted flame maple necks.  It is tinted/stained at all?

Was checking out google images and saw these pieces.  I wonder how these were treated.  Ever see any done like this?  The tint really brings out the contrast.  Gnarly!

They do recommend a clear lacquer if the paint is used for floors/stairs, so there's that option.  This will be fairly relic'd though, so unless it comes off easily, might not be necessary.  I did see one guy on youtube w/ a chalk-painted guitar.  Looked great.
