If you don't want to shield and are having noise issues a noise gate should work too. So technically you don't need to shield anything.
That said, I personally shield everything though and don't gate.
How do humbuckers sound when paired with another pickup as out of phase (say in a Baja Telecaster circuit?). Do you get quack, in phase, noise or some combination?
Thanks,
Heft
If you've read my posts you know I love kill switches. I have a few guitars with them and love to use them in my playing. I'd like to make a Les Paul type guitar and I'm wondering if I need one Shadow Kill Switch on one volume pot or one on each volume pot.
In other words does it route...
Also quick follow up.
Is this good flux? Times like this you really miss radio shack.

Hello,
I know there are a lot of these threads out there but most people say to get one at Harbor Freight. Unfortunately I live in Canada and I can't find that store here. I can find them online at Amazon. Is there a better place? My current soldering iron is a not great Amazon find.
Thanks,
Heft
yeah,
I want the humbucker to split into basically single coil mode. I want the quarter pounder single coil to loose some of its power and effectively drop from 5000 turns to 2500 turns.
The quarter pounder is a high gain single coil so its really loud and bright with a .22 cap and 250k pots...
No,
I want to replace 2 humbuckers with one quarter pounder and one 59/custom. The quarter pounder is the single coil tapped (neck) pickup.
Sorry for the confusion.
Hello,
I'm wondering if I can sub a tapped Seymour Duncan single coil for a coil split humbucker on a 5 way super switch.
Anyone have any idea how much work this would take?
Thanks,
Heft
