I chose the Gotoh wrap around as well. It looks like both types of bridges have the guide slots in place on the saddles. Are you saying those are sufficient to hold the strings in place? I seldom do the Townsend windmill these days.
Thanks for the advice. StewMac just had a tool sale so I bought the appropriate file for each string gauge. I watched a couple How To videos on it. It looks fairly simple.
This really helps. Thanks for posting! It looks like the Mooncaster is very close to a Strat in overall size. I’m guessing access to the upper frets is not as good but with the heel contour it might be fine for my big hands.
I can’t find the dimensions on the Mooncaster. Can anyone comment on how large these are compared to a Strat or WGD?
Are the edges sharp like a Les Paul top?
How is the upper fret accessibility on these?

I’m a big Dead Head but not necessarily a Jerry tone chaser and...
WGD Black Korina core w/ Zebrawood top (Clear Gloss)
Hombre Neck Wenge shaft w/ Ebony (Black) fretboard
Considering an HSH hardtail Strat layout
I have no experience with these woods other than a little with Ebony fretboards. The graphic representations look really cool to me and the tone...
This is my second build. I’m not sure if I should have Warmoth install the bridge studs. It seems to me that I would need to remove the studs anyway to get the bridge grounded with a wire. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
