    Mooncaster: wisdom needed

I have a Mooncaster with Mahogany body (koa top) and a wenge/ebony neck. Not neck heavy at all.  It actually my favorite guitar.  And yes, get the switch in the lower horn was a pain in the a**.  My switch is still rotated slightly so the action is not parallel to the centerline, like was my goal.

    Case for a Mooncaster...

Thanks for the info!  Just ordered one for my Mooncaster. I was using a Roadrunner case that kinda fit, but didn’t inspire confidence. Also, thanks for clarifying about the tilt-back headstock (which mine has). Was confusing since their site seemed to show a guitar with a tilt-back in the case...

    (Chemical?) Spots on Ebony Neck

:help: So, I've been making myself crazy and falling down internet-forum rabbit-holes.  I can't find Naptha in Southern California. I read it's been banned since 2012. True? Thanks internet says so. I also read that lighter fluid and camping stove fuel "contain" Naptha, but are not pure and may...

    (Chemical?) Spots on Ebony Neck

Any recommended brands of Naptha mineral spirits? I certainly don't want to ruin the binding.  I'm in Southern California, if that influces the choice...

Aquamarine Hybrid Tele and Rosewood/Ebony neck! [General Discussion Crosspost]

I received my new body and neck today! The body is gorgeous, but I noticed a lot of spots running the length of the fretboard. (Crosspost from general Discussion) It looks like a chemical was splashed across the fretboard prior to installation.  (See attachments)  Has anyone seen this before...

    (Chemical?) Spots on Ebony Neck

I just received my new neck (yea!) but I noticed a lot of spots running the length of the fretboard (booo!).  It looks like a chemical was splashed across the fretboard prior to installation.  (See attachments)  Has anyone seen this before on a Warmoth neck?  I have another Ebony neck from...

It's shipped!  6 weeks to the day - faster than expected!  Should be here May 10!  :turtle:

    The wait is killing me!

Understood. I’d certainly prefer it be done right rather than quickly...

    The wait is killing me!

How long did you wait for your guitar to arrive?  What's the realistic wait time? I ordered a custom neck and body March 26... two weeks down; I'm assuming I have 4-6 more to go...  Model: Chambered Telecaster® Orientation: Right handed F-Holes: None Scale: 25-1/2" Wood: Flame Maple on...

    Mooncaster Choices

I'm not familiar with an Epi Casino, so I can't speak knowledgeably about a comparison, but I do have a Mooncaster that I absolutely love: Mahogany body with a Koa top Wenge Strat tilt-back neck Ebony Fretboard Fishman Fluence modern humbucking pickups I can get a wide range of tones from...

    Actually out of the box...

Was that Quilted top a "Unique Choice," or was it the luck of the draw?  It's beautiful!  I'm considering something very similar (Hybrid Tele with flame top).  Love the aquamarine...

Mother of Pearl vs. Pearloid Inlays

I thought about this as well - I just don't trust myself... I am trying to pay attention to how often I actually look at the fretboard for reference and if I'm using the side dots or looking at the fretboard itself.  I've been playing for years, but I still feel like a beginner  :dontknow:

Mother of Pearl vs. Pearloid Inlays

So, I tried searching and didn't find what I was looking for...I was thinking of getting a neck with dot inlays, but having Warmth use the lighting bolt inlay at the 12th fret only.  The problem is that the dots will have to be mother of pearl and the lightning bolt will have to be pearloid. ...

    Chambered Jazzmaster with F Holes?

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but I had to +1 Cagey's comments about the Fishman TriplePlay - they're lots-o-fun! As for the OP's question, I agree with BigSteve22 - "Choose the aesthetics you want, and the electronics you need."  (If only I could buy the talent I want too...)
