No real complaint to be honest. It’s pretty much splitting hairs but these are slightly lower output and.. if I’m being honest… the no holes covers look cool. 😄
I bought this spalted maple body off the showcase late summer or early fall of 2015 and finished the build in Nov of 2015. It was my #1 guitar for at least 8 of those 10 years. It might be back to #1 again. Regardless, I thought I would give it a bit of an update for it's milestone birthday...
I'm 1 week away from my order shipping window opening. I caught a glimpse of a Warmoth email in my inbox and got excited. Then I saw it was the email for these flake bodies so I was disappointed BUT, dang, these look awesome!
That "Rage Against the Cuisine" color is niiiiiice.
And the names...
That's interesting. I hadn't noticed that but, now that you mention it, my brightest guitar does happen to be a hardtail. Any theories on why a hardtail would be brighter?
I thought all of your points were good and valid except for the Strat volume knob (for me). I know some people tend to hit it when strumming, but that's never been an issue for me, but I like the close proximity for quick volume changes.
HOWEVER! I could not agree more about the Tele volume...
I used to have a "guitarded" sticker on my guitar case back in HS... 30 years ago... that looked like this:
No big deal back then, but no way I would have that now.
My lab's job is to protect the house from ninjas and he's quite good at it.
[out of nowhere]
Dog: "BARK! BARK! BARK! GROOOOWWWWWWLLLLL!!!"
Wife: "What's up with him?"
Me: "Must be ninjas again trying to take us out, but he's surely scared them off."
Wife: "Thank goodness!"
I know custom molded IEMs are pricey, but they are absolutely worth it if you plan to use them at least semi-regularly.
They sound so much better
They provide much better isolation/hearing protection
They are way more durable
They are way more comfortable
Oh yeah, and they sound so much better...
