Wasn't me- great price, but I like my swamp ash with the grain visible. I'm sure it's gone to a good home, though.

I got a five string jut recently; the B is fairly floppy. I deal with it. I would have gone with a 35" scale Gecko, but I don't think they make them left-handed. :(

Congrats! I was thinking of naming my bass "The Beast," but yours is more worthy of that title.

Mine's now up for adoption, too. Though I must say, if I didn't have a horse in the race, it would be a very difficult decision as well.

Finally got around to weighing it fully assembled. Comes in at 10.6 lbs- not that bad, only a bit heavier than my Jazz bass.

Yep, definitely wenge. The contrast looks nice with the maple  :glasses9: It may darken even further with your oil finish. On a side note, after looking it up, I realized I've been pronouncing wenge wrong this whole time. That's what happens when you only read a word instead of hearing it...

Looks like I picked the wrong month for my first build as well- a lot of excellent builds in the competition (and for me, not enough practice taking good photos.) At least we're not precluded from entering in the future if we don't win this time!

Go with 7/8". I went with 3/4" and then discovered my stereo jack wouldn't fit; I had to ream it out further with a Dremel.

They just gotta start putting better dots on the better wood... Abalone anyone?  :icon_biggrin:

They could always sell a 5-pack of different grits of sandpaper as a DIY kit. :D
