    Floyd Rose Nut Sand or Shim

    Does anyone know if you can simply have the shelf cut high and sand (or plane) down the shelf to the level you want?  My hope is to avoid the shims, which just seem a bit odd to do in guitar building.  Does Suhr or ESP use shims on the FR locking nuts?
