Opinions Needed - White Nitro or keep Natural?

I agree with you here; I've seen "paint grade" bodies that I like more than the "stain grade" ones. You could do a white stain to let more of the character show through, or do white and sand back to color the grain.

Purple dyed Strat, 18 years later

Looks good past and present. You should get a clear pickguard.

    Shielding These Pickups

I'm on Team Shield. There's no drawback, and potential benefit, so why not do it? Strats get copper tape in the pickup jack route, and I have some Belden 8451 wire that I use to the jack from the pickup circuits. It's shielded, and I use its shield to tie the jack cavity shielding to the rest...

Gotoh SD91 Magnum Locking Tuners - any good?

Your gotos aren't gotohs? Egads! I've got some SG381 tuners that are great. Can't go wrong with Gotoh.

    Body Blanks

You only need a small router and a flush trim bit to mutilate the neck pocket DIY a 720 mod.

    Low tack tape recommendations??

Blue painters tape pulled some finish off of a maple 90s MIM Strat neck I have, so I'd definitely use something less tacky, or the tricks above to reduce its tackiness.

Warmoth builds that didn’t work out? Looking for mistakes made in hindsight

Good advice. But here's the problem: I've got a Warmoth Jazzmaster body on the bench. I sanded through the clearcoat into the dyed wood. Oh, I definitely walked away. No compounding errors for me. The problem is that this happened 4 months ago, and I have ZERO interest in sanding back and...

Help Me Build A 24 Fret Modern Jazzmaster (AZ24/DK24 HH Style)

A fair observation. So I plotted some lines and crunched some numbers. A 1 degree shim should raise the heel end of the neck by about 0.05". The 720 mod lowers the pocket by about 0.10". And 1 degree is a pretty large shim, it raises string height over the saddles by 0.18", almost 3/16"...

Help Me Build A 24 Fret Modern Jazzmaster (AZ24/DK24 HH Style)

A shim in the neck pocket should take care of any potential problem here. Tilting the headstock downward would let OP raise the bridge/saddles higher. Nav, you might also want shorter set screws for the saddles. If the saddles are set really low, the screws could be sticking out the top...

    Bass Neck Radii

Yeah, it's a feature of the forum software. You can select text for quoting multiple times, from different users, and even in different threads. It all gets saved until you hit the "Insert quotes..." button. It's very useful if you wanted to refer to another thread in a quote. And confusing...

    The Eclectic XII.

Here's some photos of the neck and body together. I'm thinking the neck could use a light coat of wipe-on oil to help make the color pop a little.

    The Eclectic XII.

Warmoth has already gotten me a return label. I think the ding is just in the finish; they said they can refinish. And now I've got more time to figure out how to build it out. I've got the pickups, JB Jr bridge, Duckbucker middle, and Little 59 neck. I've got them installed in my test...
