I"ve had an American Crate V3112 for 6 months now - great classic rock, blues, even good jazz tone.
I dont really have an opinion about other Crates but the V series are excellent - Class A goodness...mmmm...

If you're after a great warm jazzy tone go for a P-90 in the neck position - I've got one in my Les Paul (mahogany body helps!) & my "serious jazz" mates can't believe the rich tone. Sounds great dirty too
Thanks for the feedback. I've played a lot of different JMs in the past & although the JM is a unreliable I love the action. They're my fave for mild pitchshift/glides - I'm no divebomber. My thinking is that the ash/goncalo combo will warm & snappy.
