Vega trem screws a bit long

btw, I am 93% sure this body is the same one as on this Warmoth instagram post. Second from bottom. If so, this would easily qualify as my proudest moment as a guitarist.

Vega trem screws a bit long

Here's what the trem cavity looks like. The screw tips just poke through the wood. Roasted alder btw. The outside two screw tips also show but they are hidden by the springs.

Vega trem screws a bit long

I just wanted to try both. Very used to playing fixed bridges so I thought the rail tail would feel more familiar, which it definitely did. On this particular guitar though the Vega had a different tone and one that I really preferred. I didn't like the feel of it on bends though. Everything was...

Vega trem screws a bit long

I built a strat recently with traditional six hole trem route. Initially I had a Floyd Rose Rail Tail in it, then tried a Vega trem. I know one is decked and one floating but it's my first strat in a long time and I wasn't sure about floating v.s. decked. In any case, one thing I found out is...

Let's hear it for black-yellow burst

Four months of playing time on this and it's up there amongst my favorite guitars of all time.

    Attn: sonic blue owners

Curious what this color looks like in real life. If you google it of course you get all sorts of shades of pale blue to pale greenish blue to almost gray. As Aaron explains, it's all down to the lighting and your monitor. Even in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MdB_oD-AoQ the sonic...

Hipshot fixed bridge with thicker baseplate

Yeah I wonder. Either bridge works technically so not sure it's worth their trouble to offer yet another option.

Hipshot fixed bridge with thicker baseplate

I built a Warmoth HH telecaster recently with the Hipshot bridge. Flat body (not carved) so neck pocket is not angled. No 720 mod. I bought both versions of the Hipshot bridge: the one with the 0.125" thick baseplate, which Warmoth recommends, and the thicker 0.175" baseplate. After setting up...

Fingers crossed for Mary Kay white.

Let's hear it for black-yellow burst

Did a tele build recently with a one piece swamp ash body and roasted maple neck. This is one of those where you can't believe how good it came out. Plays like butter and the neck pickup sound is really jaw dropping (Bareknuckle Yardbirds set). Rutters bridge, Bensonite saddles, Gunstreet wiring...

Wamoth pre slotted nut slot sizes

Thanks! Yes I did notice that the slots are just a hair too shallow on the necks I got recently. They're mostly very close though, a few thousandths off. This is a reasonable strategy for Warmoth so no complaints here.

Wamoth pre slotted nut slot sizes

I did search this but didn't find a definitive answer. When you buy a Warmoth pre slotted nut what are the slot sizes? Can I assume they're for a 10 gauge set (0.010 0.013 0.017 0.026 0.036 0.046)?

    Player Telecaster HH

I copper taped only the control cavity on this one. The pickups are single coils but with three leads, one is a ground connected to the covers so I figured the pickup cavities didn't need shielding. When I sent the order I added a note about grounding the bridge and Warmoth drilled a hole for...

    Player Telecaster HH

Almost finished. No strings on yet and wiring is not done. Fretboard is dark rosewood with mother of pearl dots, neck is roasted maple.

    Player Telecaster HH

Been working away at this one and it's close to getting done, minus setup. Is it just me or do other people find it nerve wracking to drill into a new Warmoth body for the first time? I'll post some pictures hopefully this weekend. Chambered body is very light, probably less than four pounds.
