    Ice Tea Burst LP

I actually like the Warmoth better than the Gibson.  :rock-on:

    $300 pickup budget for humbuckers....GO!

Consider checking out manliusguitar.com --- Mick will really take the time to make great recommendations for what will sound good in your axe.  In 37 years of playing I have tried tons o'stuff, but Mick has a talent that's rare.  Not a put-down of anyone else's work (and I remain a BKP fan), but...

Warning: SKB fbird/explorer case not compatible w/ Warmoth Firebird

So how did it work out with the SKB Firebird case?

If you could add any Body/Neck Option(s) to Warmoth's selection..

1965-shape Melody Maker body with control layout as per Pat Travers.  Plus, naturally, the classic MM headstock shape as a neck option.

    Crate Amps

I have 2 Crate "Vintage Club" 20-watt amps with one 10" speaker in each.  I've had them for about 15 years or so, and they have yet to cause me any trouble.  They're great for when you want (as Rory Gallagher once put it) a small amp really hopping off the chair instead of a big amp just ticking...

anyone know Pat Travers effects ? please tell me !

If memory serves me right, in his 1980 Guitar Player interview he also mentioned that he was using an MXR Phase 100 along with the ADA.  Anyone got that issue lying around anywhere so we can check?  :icon_scratch:

    Proposition for Firebird build

My suggestion is to go for the minibuckers.  I just purchased a set of the GFS Mini-Birds, will let you know how they sound once I get things wired up.  Would have gone whole-hog with Bare Knuckle or Genesis, but budget won't allow @ present (plus, I don't think BKP are doing minihumbuckers any...

    Firebird body

Mostly blues/rock and various other species of classic rock.  For those who are interested, a recent web search revealed another source for minihumbuckers.  A company called Genesis (www.genesissounds.com) makes a hot-rodded Alnico V minihumbucker with the Firebird-style gold cover --- exactly...

    Firebird body

If you have ever seen the "Emerald" version of the Les Paul Gem series (essentially a Les Paul Studio with P-90's, IIRC), then that's what the trans green on a mahogany body looks like --- not brownish, but a green so deep that it borders on black, but with some of the figure of the wood still...

    Firebird body

Just received today --- mahogany Firebird body in trans green, routed for 2 mini-humbuckers, standard TOM bridge/tailpiece.  I hope that the picture isn't too washed out, but I'm afraid my phone camera doesn't really do this piece justice.  I had previously purchased a Firebird neck (maple/pau...
