    Nut...

rightintheface The reason for your sitarie sound is the nut is not filed correctly. Should be very close to the string dia size and filed at the correct angle. I have had this happen on many compensated nuts I have done (customized) and corrected with slight filing modifications. Also the nut...

    Nut...

Kreig.. what type of tuner did you use in your experiment? If it wasn't a Peterson strobe tuner, you may not perceive any difference. You should listen to Funky Phil.. he knows what he's talking about and I agree 100% with him. I personally can tell 2- to 3 cents diference easily.. especially...

    Nut...

unfortunately I can tell very much and I suspect many other people with a good ear for tone can too. It drives me crazy hearing an out of tune cord. Nut...

Didn't say it was anything new, just that I only knew of Earvana "coming out with the Floyd" forever.  However, in my experience, every nut has had to be custom made for each different guitar. I have done 15 of my own and some  others so far (even two that were exactly the same in every way) and...

    Nut...

I got tired of waiting on the Earvana Floyd Rose locking nut after two years and made my own compensated brass nut add on. I have two Carvins and one Ibanez with the Floyd Rose locking nuts. Each one required different compensation but wow, they really sound great.  :guitarplayer2: For pics go...
