I'm using wipe-on poly, which I believe is already thinned with mineral spirits. Should I thin it more, or can I use it as-is?

"Seal first" meaning what, exactly? I'm using poly for my finish, so does that mean it gets a coat of poly first?

Confirmed: I'm going the etched plate route.

Certainly if I go the pyrography route, I'd test/practice it first. I have two logos that I could use, and for burning, I'd go with the simpler one. And I mean dead simple. Composed entirely of straight lines. If I go the plate route, I'd probably just buy a blank brass tag and etch it myself...

It's not that money is an issue, per se. It's that I don't want to spend $150 on what is essentially going to be one decal. If I thought I'd have a use for the other 49, I'd go for it. At the moment, I'm back to burning the logo on. A wood burning iron isn't that expensive.

Let's just say I don't have the budget to build more than one guitar. And I definitely don't have $150 to burn on 50 decals, of which I'll use one.
