    This is why I prefer to buy the in stock bodies. Then, I know what I am getting. The alder body had a surprisingly nice grain to it. I assume the back wasn't as nice, hence why they likely painted the back solid black.

    I finished these two builds this month. Top is swamp ash body (satin finish) with modern flame maple neck with rosewood fingerboard. 9.5 to 14 compound radius. Standard thin. SS6150 frets Seymour Duncan Dave Murray Prewired pick guard. Gotoh 510 bridge with Schaller M6 locking tuners...
