Call them. When I wanted another padauk neck, there weren't on the site. I calle, they checked with the shop and boom!, they had some and made me a really gorgeous neck.
Yeah I have a hydrometer. In truth I don't track the humidity very closely, but I believe it's normally around 40-50% (I could be off and I'm on the road so I can't check it right now). In the winter the heater will run a lot in, typically late Jan to March. The humidity will dive down to 20%...
Also, I do want to be fair. I love Warmoth and, when they my guitars are at their best, they are incredible. I don't want to sound like I'm raging on the company - I just want to solve the problem.
So do you think what I'm experiencing is just normal and to be expected? I won't like it if that's the case, but...... I guess every single Warmoth neck I've purchased has ski jumped over time. That's a bummer.
Thanks all for the feedback and thoughts - I very much appreciate the thoughts!
Same regarding fall away. I can get that, but then a few years later, it's moot because the wood moves. :/ I really don't want to case my guitars, but maybe that's part of the solution.
I'll try to remember them...
I suspect you may be right. I never felt like I was cranking down on the screws a bunch, but. <Shrug>
How tight do you normally make yours? I don't suppose loosening them a tiny bit would reduce the problem, or would it?
Alright, I feel like I'm going crazy. I've been playing for ~30 years, have a bunch of guitars, and generally know what I'm doing. ......but now I'm starting to lose my confidence because I *keep* getting ski jumps on my necks. I've now had 5 Warmoth necks develop this and a super nice Tom...
Man, I'm jealous. I just checked mine and it was ordered on Sep 22nd. Custom neck w/ no finish, and I haven't heard anything. I'm hoping it comes before the end of the year. In fairness I ordered some off menu options, so that certainly isn't going to speed it up. :) Right is better than fast IMO.
Keep in mind I'm not trying to convert anyone to the church of the contoured heel. I just thought this was a reasonably cool thing to post on this forum and may be of interest to others.
@rick2 I don't get that at all, but I suspect you're in the majority as traditional heels are by far the most common.
I find it irritating to change my left hand position to reach the upper frets. I mean I can do it, and have for ~30 years, but I find it more enjoyable not to have material...
I suppose people have different reasons. I've been a Warmoth guy for 15 years now and have done 4 guitars, a bass, and ordered two additional necks. That makes me a noob compared to others here. :) My main guitars are Andersons, but I like my Warmoths just as much. They allow me to scratch very...
It would be a great option to offer for sure. I do really like the current contour that warmoth offers. ....but since this was a showcase purchase, this path was the only practical option I could come up with.
One thing that sucks is the plate Fender makes for this join has a sharp edge on it...
