Latest gift carve was for a student at Roberto Venn. Wasn’t very proud of it, just free hand sketched the body / neck shape. Got six strings on it though!

The darker woods get punch stamped internal numbers because it’s hard to identify the handwriting on those. Also, speeds up production by handwriting numbers. Less wear and tear on the body hammering those numbers on each neck.

Yes, 6105 nickel fret wire. WT is white tusq nut material. The green handwriting is nut width. 1.706, little over spec 1-11/16”. Judging by the ink stamps, looks like an older neck. As for the neck back, could be a standard thin, fat or boat. The rest of our back shapes get a branded punch stamp...

That’s a good sound! What I hear is the vintage maple offers a bright and slappy tone. Whereas the SS modern RW construct is a little more gritty. Very subtle and probably not noticeable to most but that’s my take on it. Cool video!

Yes, with scallop necks and the bigger side dots we run the risk of milling into the side dot.
