I've seen your guitar from the beginning, and I regularly come and look at it! Simply great in every way! :icon_thumright:
I wonder though, why haven't I seen such an redish/orange and figured Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard in the showcase or "Unique Choice" selection?
Yeah, I've overdone the scalloping a bit, but the 19th and 20th fret are not deeper than #18.
I was very busy lately, but next week I'll finish the neck, and will send the body for a paint job! You'll get some new pictures then... ;)
Ok, thanks for the extra info, although my common sense does stretch that far! :icon_biggrin: That book could be handy though, I'll see if I can find one here.
And I didn't know about waxing the screws... What kind of wax should that be?
I forget one more thing to do before the paint job too...

Now I need to drill three holes for the tremking before the body gets painted.
I was...
Yeah, it's risky off course... And maybe it's too much for a first project... :icon_scratch:
But I think I can try. If the bridge will turn out badly, I could fix it in one position...
I'm so in love with that neck by the way! :D That satine... Those masassar stripes... :headbang1:
Yup, full scallop! I'll try to do it Blackmore-style though: assymetrical and it gets deeper at the higher strings, and deeper as you get closer to the neck...
Thanks guys!
I'm not doing the dark red burst myself, so frankly I have no idea how that will be done! :icon_biggrin:
Stubhead, don't worry about the scalloping! I'll do it very carefully, and first I'll practice on a cheapass neck... ;)
It had to take more than 10 weeks, but I'm very happy with the result:
Isn't it beautiful? :headbang:

Leinad, extra costs in the Netherlands are 19% VAT + 3.2% "invoerrechten" (don't know the English name :toothy11:). And that's including the shipping costs. Furthermore, UPS is faster than USPS, and I had some minor problems with USPS at times...
