September Guitar/Bass of the Month: OWNER FINISHED-- WINNER!!!

Thanks for the kudos and well wishes. I am indeed a Yankees fan. It was a work of passion.  Especially the pinstriping as that was a pain in the rear.  :laughing7:

My entry The body is a hollow Mahogany from Warmoth. The neck is a Warmoth "CBS Strat" Mahogany with Rosewood fretboard.  I sanded and sealed the body, primed it, painted it Blue, pinstriped it, masked the logo and number on the back, painted it White, removed the pinstriping and masking tape...

    Gtr Of the Month Criteria

Hi, Sorry, but I'm fairly new to the Forum and for the life of me I can't see any place that describes how one gets on the list of Guitar of the Month candidates. I posted a guitar that I built in the a different section of the forum.  Was that wrong? Is there a specific place that one has to...

    Electric Resonator Build

A few things: 1) Let me Thank all of you for your positive feedback.  I do appreciate it and it makes me feel that all that effort wasn't misguided 2) A good portion of a 1/8" thick piece of quilted maple was sacrificed.  However, not all of it went to waste.  There's still a good amount of it...

    Electric Resonator Build

Hi Knuclehead G, it is a Resonator.  The components are the same as in an acoustic Resonator such as a National Steel, i.e. it has a Cone, and a Biscuit.  I'm actually using a Cone, Biscuit, and Coverplate from National. The difference between an acoustic Resonator and an Electric Resonator is...

    ES-355 Body

Hi again,  Warmoth sells a "Hollow" L5S body.  See here: http://www.warmoth.com/Guitar/Bodies/Vintage/HollowL5S.aspx (Its not really hollow as they leave what is basically a "block" of wood down the center.  Which is even better since a 335/345/355 is a "semi-hollow" body with a block down the...
