I had a scare last night; I tried plugging into a different cab (a Mills 2x12 with Eminence GB12s) and no sound came out! So I opened up the back panel of my amp and searched for an issue. Tubes were glowing, all the voltage test points were fine.
30 minutes later I discovered that I had plugged the speaker cable into the "Aux speaker" jack instead of the "speaker" jack.

Did two simple mods from Rob Robinette's 5e3 mods website; the phase inverter grid stop resistor (supposedly smooths the overdrive, pretty subtle) and the three way negative feedback switch (not so subtle and adds a ton of versatility to the amp).
Stock, the amp is very squishy and dirties up quick. With the negative feedback switch engaged it's a good bit cleaner and tighter sounding. Both sound great, but with the NFB it makes a better pedal platform, which is generally how I run my amps.
Also the custom amp badge that I ordered came in the mail today yesterday! Ordered from Droplight Ltd. who did a great job, very high quality work.

Just wondering how satisfied you are with the Mojotone 5e3 now? I can get a fully built out 5e3 from Mojotone for ~$1.2k. I am interested in this amp but was wanting a Victoria 20112. If the Mojotone is comprable, the cost difference would be a big factor in my decision. Thanks!I've wanted to try my hand at building an amp kit for a long time, and I finally built the bullet! I ordered a Mojotone 5e3 Tweed Deluxe kit, and I'll be building a headshell for it. Today I populated/soldered the turret board, except for a missing 100k resistor... I'll have to wait for Mojotone to send me another. In the mean time I'll be working on the headshell, which I'm building out of pine.

It's a pretty great sounding amp; it breaks up pretty early (compared to a Deluxe Reverb for example), it's best for gritty cleans/light overdrive. It's got that "tweed" chewy, gritty sound in spades! I'd definitely recommend it if that sounds like something you'd enjoy.
Is the $1.2k for one built by Mojotone? That sounds very reasonable to me; the amp kit + speaker + cab costs like $1k unbuilt

Yes, the $1.2k is built by them.
Here is the link to Reverb. But I can buy direrct from Mojotone for an even slightly lower price.
