    New warmoth baritone build

About 15 years ago I had a warmoth build that was a cheap squire body and a reverse KWS neck tuned in B standard. I played it in my technical death metal band and it was amazing but with some major flaws. The nut was never cut properly because I didn’t know anything about that and the saddles...

What is your favorite fixed bridge and why?

What is your favorite fixed bridge and why? Just want some opinions for my next build. I’m on the fence on a few bridges and can’t decide.

    Original death metal track

Not recorded on warmoth but the first guitar I used in my band on our first tour was an old reverse KWS on a fender body. Last year I wrote 11 tracks and programmed some drums. The other day I was experimenting with quad tracking. Here I recorded two tracks with a fender m-80 preamp into a...

    Push push 500k wiring help

I just got a push push volume pot from warmoth and all I want to use it for is a basic 2 way pickup selector. I only found one diagram online and it didn’t work. When I plug in if I tap the metal slugs really hard and my amp is up loud I can hear the tapping coming out barely. I thought it was...

My order just went to “pickable” 🎉

It took a while but my new pickguard order just changed to pickable. It’s a 7/8 with an angled humbucker and a single coil cutout for the neck. I ordered a 7/8 last year and tried to order an angled humbucker pickguard for the bridge. At the time that was an option in the builder but they told...

What’s your favorite solid paint color?

What’s some of your favorite solid paint colors with neck woods and fretboard woods based on appearance? Even if you don’t own it. The capri orange has been looking really cool to me lately. I normally like maple fretboards most of the time but capri orange would look amazing with a rosewood...

    Help my decide

So basically I’ve just noticed Ibanez has the original RG550 out again Japanese made for $999. I was thinking about a new 7/8 warmoth build for months and now I’m considering buying an Ibanez RG550 instead. I’m on the fence about it and maybe someone here can help me decide. The pro’s of the...

    Mimic an Ibanez neck

I’ve been thinking about mimicking an Ibanez neck. Besides the wizard profile, jumbo frets, and nut width do you think getting a straight 16 inch radius will help it feel more Ibanez like? Or will the standard 10-16 radius not make much of a difference and feel close enough?

    7/8 ash and maple

Just got parts for my next build. Ash body, maple quarter sawn neck with low wide frets, standard thin contour, 10-16 compound radius, earvana nut. I’m building this around my Vega trem. Great tremolo but I’d like it to be on a 24 fret guitar, that’s why I’m building this 😉 It’s a floating trem...

    Heaviest body wood?

Is it maple? When I plan my next 7/8 build I want the heaviest body wood Warmoth offers.

Very special short scale Z 😉

Took a lot of planning but I made a 28 5/8 scale Warmoth short scale bass. It takes medium scale strings and has 24 frets. It’s a baritone neck and Z body. It’s a walnut body with a maple neck and ebony board, with walnut peg head veneer. Had to get 12-16 compound radius so the zero glide nut...

Other woods that can be roasted

This has probably been discussed before but will there ever be roasted mahogany necks or bodies same with walnut? Or does it only work with super hard woods like maple and ash?

    4 string gecko

It's probably been said before but a 4 string with gecko construction, 34 inch scale.

24 fret short scale bass neck option

A 24 fret short scale bass neck option would be cool! :headbanging:

Goncalo alves neck and fret board or goncalo alves neck and pau ferro board?

I got a fender body yesterday and am ready to get a neck. Originally I was going to get a fatback but don't feel like waiting for the custom build, just would rather get a neck from the show case. I'm going to get a dimarzio evolution for the bridge which sounds precise and cutting and needs to...

20 inch radius and flat radius

It would be cool to have both of these. The Shawn Lane Viger has a flat radius and Those Allan Holdsworth Carvin's have a 20 inch radius. Looking around the net people really dig that flat radius for the lowest non buzzing action possible. I'd like to try it but those Viger's are too expensive...

    opinions on fatback contour

Does anyone have this contour? What do you think of it? I've been itching to build a tele and just bought a peavey reactor awhile back which has an extremely fat neck 12 inch radius and low wide frets. This neck feels ultra comfortable to me. It's much fatter than any strat or les paul.
