Out of box, no tension, 0.53mm relief around 7th fret

Looks like your straightedge is resting on the frets on the left side, but not on the right side? Is that a Gibson scale neck?

    Music Man Stingray 5 Neck

…which means the obvious solution is to buy a neck and a body. A G5 body gets you to a similar look as the MM, IMO.

Schaller staggered post heights = no string trees needed?

I’ve got those RiotWorks tuners bookmarked; I really want to try them out. I’ve got an idea for a reverse-bodied offset build, a Jazzbird or Firemaster, which would be perfect.

    Aaron! New video series idea…

What we really need is the Gibson Warmoth Grabber! That’s right, the convenient sliding pickup lets you dial in the sound you want. You’d be surprised how much music was made by a pick-wielding bass player. Play Motorhead covers and you’re golden!

    4 way telecaster switch

I've got a Tele body on the bench and I'm going with a 5 way switch, with Series and Series out-of-phase as the two extra options.

What’s your favorite solid paint color?

I don't know about favorite, I guess I'm going to call it my '94 Strat in Torino Red. But what's on my radar for a build is something in the ballpark of Daphne or Sonic Blue, or Taos Turquoise. Maybe even Seafoam Green. Honestly, I'd love to get a full rainbow in light/pastel colors just to...

My order just went to “pickable” 🎉

You can pick your friends, you can pick your pickguard, but you can't pick your pickguard's nose???

New video: hard case vs soft case

You've got a great plastic surgeon. You sure don't look 90! It must have been rough playing electric guitar before they invented electricity! Did you have mine your own iron, copper, and tin in order to make strings? Everything is repairable! Post some photos. Or just string it up with...

    Pine bodies

Pine can be very blotchy with stain. You'll probably want to use a seal coat of some kind. And as always, it's good to test on scrap first.

    Unique Choice is back!

"Universal" parts are larger. Bass guitars need the larger size for tops and fretboards, and some guitars need larger tops as well.

New video: Baritone Conversion neck in a band!

Great video! Does it double as your audition for Iron Maiden? :)

Neck finishing: Making flame maple pop without coloring the neck?

I picked up a swamp ash Tele body that's finished in clear satin nitro, and now I've got to find a neck. I was considering a flame maple neck, but I'm wondering if a clear nitro finish isn't going to get the flame to pop. On the other hand, I don't really want to color the neck. I want the...

Is it alright to post non-Warmoth projects here?

What's your overall impression of the xgp body? It sure looks great in photos. Any flaws in the finish? Are the routes all the right size, i.e. the neck pocket is nice and snug? That Mahogany body almost looks like limba with the dye. The finish even looks good as-is. I say build it and...

    Unique Choice is back!

One area for improvement: "Proceed to Unique Choice" needs to filter your neck choice against Universal and Standard fretboards. I spec'd out a bass neck, and PUC took me to see both Standard and Universal fretboards. I was able to add a Standard to cart, and go through the first screen of...

    Unique Choice is back!

The search feature on the site works pretty well. You can search for unique choice and see all of the options at once: https://warmoth.com/catalogsearch/result/index/?q=Unique%20Choice&product_list_limit=36 Right now, after you click Add to Cart, you get this window: That looks like it...

    Hey where is Stratamania?

When I was about five years old, I thought that a Vulcan was a bird like a Falcon, so I'd do the old Spock Salute, but then flap my arms and try to fly.

    Happy then sad...

I don’t know, but the limited runs do sell out pretty quickly. Seems like Warmoth knows their market. Warmoth doesn’t deal in the custom market. They have plenty of options, but that’s not the same thing. If you want custom, find a custom luthier. They’re everywhere.
