Thanks for sharing guys.  I hope more people share.  It's looking like the satin finish is darker than the gloss finish on roasted swamp ash.  I really like that transparent brown gloss finish, just worried it will come out too dark depending on the actual wood specimen.

The other thing is i'd like the headstock to match the body as much as possible.  I like maple necks, but if I go the darker route, I'd use the padouk neck, unless I could get the maple headstock finished to match the body.  Although padouk has the advantage of not requiring a finish, I just...

Also, these look to be a gloss finish and the video is Satin.  I'm on the fence if I want gloss or satin, but I would like to know if the darkening is different based on satin vs gloss.
