Thanks for the reply, haven't had time until tonight to give it a try. Seems like loosening the screws kept the anchors in the body and I was able to lower the bridge without the anchors coming up. Now to get the guitar dialed in nicely.
So I've had my gotoh 510 floating for about 2 years now, everything was all nice and good until today when I decided to bottom it out so I don't have to retune the entire guitar just to go to dropped D.
So I lower the tension on my strings, and begin lowering the studs. I get the bridge nice...
I'm looking to build a dark red strat. I plan to use a color scheme like the attached one, but I'm curious how the Satin finish will take.
I found an old thread with Rgand (1st reply) showing his on roasted swamp ash, with the gloss finish. I love how deep it is. Would Satin on RSA be a similar...
Thanks for the replies. Yesterday was a bit too busy so I never had the chance to look. Attached is the parts, basically I want the neck to be 1 shade darker to compliment the body. Like the tone the rosewood would be if it was wet. That's about as much darker as I want it.
I don't want to use...
So I recently ordered a rosewood neck and a clear satin finish roasted swamp ash body. I didn't realize how much darker the swamp ash got from the finish, and was wondering if I could compensate by making the neck a little darker.
I bought the rosewood neck because I don't want a finish, and I...
I ordered all my stuff May 5th from the custom shop (not off the shelf). Came in about a week ago.
Also worth mentioning the actual tuner fits very snugly. It's the washer/ring thing that does not fit.
Washer is probably not the correct term, my mistake.
It's a ring thing that I believe goes at the top of the through hole, and under the locking nut/thread. See the images attached.
I think the lip is supposed to go in the hole, but it doesn't fit. Is it press fit and I force it in with the...
When installing my new tuners, I noticed that the washers are just slightly too big for the through-holes in the neck. What's the best way to expand the holes? I don't have too much equipment for expanding them, and I figure forcing them isn't the way to go. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Thanks,
I'm not quite sure about where the finish is missing though. It seems to me like it actually separated from the wood, and not actually chipped off. So would the glue go around the where the finish is separated? Would that even help?
I started installation on my first Warmoth yesterday, and drilled my first holes for the tremolo cover. I noticed today that the satin finish around those holes is coming apart. You can see it am the imgur link

Was I running my drill to slow? I was nervous my bit...
