    Maple

3 tone it! Actually looks great as is. I'd love a maple carved top Soloist.

    Non-Warmoth-induced GAS

Of all the things they did there I can't believe they passed up chopping the pickup cover to match! Oh well. Awesome idea anyway!

    APP

Couldn't agree much more! Love some android features. Love some iPhone features. My ideal phone would be a big mix up of the two. In the end I can't complain too much. It still makes phone calls just fine!  :icon_biggrin:

Variax headstock? Always loved the look on a VIP! And if its not completely straight string pull then its pretty damn close!

Scalloped Neck wood chips: How much do they weigh?

I bet you could have it down and wouldn't notice a difference when standing with it. Unfortunately. I wouldn't do anything unless you want to do it for a feel-reason. If its just being done for weight I'd leave it. Just my 2c. Also, pictures  :icon_jokercolor:

Now THAT is a guitar. How had I not seen this before?

    APP

One of my favorite forums, but I rarely browse at work. My iPhone and this site do not get along well at all. Right now it's loading very easily, but it seems to be pretty fickle. Most other sites don't have much of a problem.

    My Franky Is Ready

Might be easy enough to sand down and reapply a waterslide if you can get somebody to make a custom one. I had somebody off of Ebay do that for me and it turned out great! I still really love the logo. Nice looking guitar!

How would you mix Colortone liquid pigments to get British Racing Green?

Yeah, we have 3 bases. Extra White (light colors, obviously), Deep Base (medium, maybe bright colors with lots of colorants like yellow or blue), and Ultradeep Base (dark colors, lots of colorant). It's basically a white base with more extenders in it. A gallon of the stuff comes with a bit of...

How would you mix Colortone liquid pigments to get British Racing Green?

Again, don't know if this will really be what you're looking for but here are the formulas for these 3 colors made in an ultradeep semi-gloss house paint. Our formulas are broken down into ounces, 32nds, 64ths, and 128ths of ounces.

How would you mix Colortone liquid pigments to get British Racing Green?

Did some playing around here. I printed formulas for 3 SW colors that I think are the closest to BRG. I'll post the formulas when I get home. I put them on my Flickr but I can't get a URL from my Flickr app. Technology... Edit: Forgot to say... Hopefully they'll help, but they're different...

How would you mix Colortone liquid pigments to get British Racing Green?

I can check our colors tomorrow (work at a Sherwin myself), but there will most likely be more blue and yellow (and probably some black) in the color formula than you'd expect. It'll give you a bit of a deeper green than just green colorant itself. But I don't know if we have a color called...

May 2013 Guitar of the Month Contest Entries

Big +1. Seems completely within the rules to me. Not only that, but it looks seriously badass too. Looks like a legit entry to me!

    Telecaster

I think Warmoth calls it a "Jazzcaster," and they might be able to do the TV Jones in there. Give them a call or see if it'll let you with the body builder.

    What about hickory?

Saw a thread about a custom guitar with (I believe...) a spruce neck, if I'm not mistaken. Really interesting! I always thought spruce was a medium/softer wood... I must have been wrong, or I don't think it would make a great neck wood. Either way, I'd be all for hickory!

    Custom build ideas need help!

Count me in! A Tele neck pickup is my favorite of all the neck pickups out there. Just love it. Some people will tell you that hum canceling single coils will "suck" tone, or just not sound as good. I've never used a hum canceling single, so no hands-on comment from me. But I will say that from...

    Custom build ideas need help!

Are you looking to go hum canceling or no? If yes, I'd go with a 58 or Virtual Solo from Dimarzio for the middle, and the hum canceling Tele neck pickup from them (can't think of the name right now...).
