Thanks! The problem is that it costs $20-$30 to ship 4 screws to my part of Europe. So if it does not make any difference, I'll skip it.
One other thing that I noticed. Is that the mounting screws on a soapbar P90 is not grounded? Should they? Is it not recommended to ground the mounting plate...
It makes it simpler to adjust the height of the pickup. The wood is also a little “worn” at that spot, so the plate makes a better connection for the pickups screws.
I'm putting P90 into my guitar. I have a mounting plate in the bottom of the cavity so I want to use machine screws. The problem is that the screw that I have has not a flat head. It is almost impossible to find a flat head #3-48 1" screw in my corner of Europe.
Are there any technical...
Thanks for all the answers. I will then glue it in.
Has someone tried to use shellac as glue? Stewmac has this as a "trade secret" - http://www.stewmac.com/How-To/Online_Resources/Learn_About_Guitar_Nut_and_Saddle_Setup_and_Repair/How_to_fit_a_preshaped_nut_on_a_guitar.html
I know that...
The nut that I have made is sitting perfectly in the slot. It goes in with a little "click" and it does not move sideways at all.
Do I actually need to glue the nut in? Or is it okay to not add any glue?
Is that a quartersawn maple neck? 1 or 2 piece? I have a hard time to decide. Can you feel the skunk stripe on a raw neck? Is a 2 pice neck "aesthetic" nice with the same wood in the finger board as the neck?
Hi
Does anyone have experience with the Liberion Finishing Oil?
Is it an oil or a varnish? Does it build up? Can you easily make a satin finish?
How is this finish compared to Tru Oil. Better/worse...
Thanks for your reply. So I may consider to use som dye on the body to tint the colour a bit.
I'm aiming for something like this, but less relic'd.

I have read about our "burnish" method and it sounds interesting!
About the colour matching, I'm a little unsure. I will do a satin tru oil finish on the swamp ash, and may use a dark grain filler so the grains stands out. But will the neck be much darker than the body? How well will the...
Hi
I'm thinking about my second build here. I'm aiming for a vintage-ish telecaster. The body will be swamp ash, and I want to try roasted maple for the neck.
But what about the fretboard? How is the feel of an unfinished roasted maple fretboard. Is it nice? Or should i go for more...
I'm now finish with the build and here is some pictures of the beauty with a "vintage" matching chair :-)
Thanks for all the input and help from all the people on this forum.
